Heidi has raised two boys that LOVED dinosaurs. In fact she has a tote with all of their Dinosaurs that they played with growing up that she's saving for their kids some day. Here are a couple of pages I made with this kit. I couldn't find any dinosaur photos (although I'm sure we have some somewhere) so I took this kit in a different direction. I love the colors and it was so versatile that it was easy to use it in other ways although I would have loved to use some of those awesome dino ellies that Heidi made for this kit!

Scraps N Pieces is so excited to be the Featured Designer at Stuff to Scrap starting on Monday the 23rd. To celebrate, they have lots of fun for YOU!
First off, they will be having a scavenger hunt in our store at Stuff to Scrap. It will start on Monday and you get a $2 coupon to their store if you get those all correct. Scavenger hunt list and instructions will be in the forum at Stuff to Scrap. There will also be a special challenge in that same area of the forum where you can grab a coupon code for some additional savings on all of their MUSIC related kits and if you participate in it, with one of their music kits, you can earn another $2 coupon to their store. You can earn a $1 coupon if you participate in it with one of their kits other than a music kit.
Next, they will be having a designer chat on Tuesday the 24th at 3pm MT. Attendees are eligible for prizes and Meagan can't be there to host, so Heidi and Lori will be hosting it themselves with an awesome GAME where you can earn pieces of their new mini kit "You're A Hoot". So make sure you are there on time because the longer you are there, the more pieces you have a chance to earn. It's kind of a chat/20 questions/use it all/speedscrap/get some awesome prizes all rolled into one! It's going to be a blast. Now that Christmas has passed and my girls are back in school, I have some time to scrapbook all of the Christmas pictures! Yeah! Of course, I am a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas and I love the red, green and sparkle of it all! So I set out to make a kit that encompassed all of that and then some. So a funny thing happened this morning (Sunday, Jan 8...yep, I start these posts as soon as I finish the last so it's easy to link all week long) as I opened up my blog reader. The first thing I saw made me laugh a little because I made a page for myself yesterday that basically said the same thing. Here's the page I made last night...

Seriously? Yep. I got the message loud and clear. Isn't it funny how life sometimes just puts it out there for you to see? I love it when that happens.
But, enough about me and my epiphanies, how about some inspiration?
I'll be honest...this was all about the measuring spoons. I have a container for all of my measuring cups and spoons but for some reason, I can never find the spoon I need when I need it. I love how they look in this little bowl!
Hmmm, I am sure I have a crib bottom in the basement. We've already used the headboard and footboard to create an easle for Kaylee...maybe she needs a memo/pin board to go with it?
Speaking of organizing and pin boards (kinda), the chore chart has always been a non-working thing at my house. I have tried laminated sheets, mini sheets, popsicle sticks, random draw jars, you name it, I've tried it. Nothing has worked. And I hate printing them all the time so this week, Lexi (my genius) evolved the chore chart in a wonderful way. We had been driving to and from her orthodontist appointment on Friday when she brought up that she'd love to have a cell phone. UGH! Yeah, I don't even have a cell phone (pick up your jaw) so why would I get her one. Oh yeah, because she is constantly on the go from school, school activities, church activities and sports...oh the sports! So I will admit that it would be wonderful if she could easily get in touch with me and I with her. So I told her that I would buy her a cell phone and pay for half of the monthly bill if she would pay for the other half. Sounds fair, right? But then she brought up that she has no way to earn money other than her grades. No, we don't pay an allowance at our house...we pay for food, clothing and a home to live in instead. Our kids still get the things they need (and want most of the time) but we've tried the allowance game before and it never worked out. So with a big gulp I told her to come up with an allowance plan/contract and write it down so I could read it. Well, the little genius sent me a google doc spreadsheet with all of the things she was willing to commit to in order to get an allowance and what she thought it should be. Ummm...duh! That was awesome. So I added my thoughts and together in google docs, we created a spreadsheet that both she and I can edit/check things off as well as track her allowance and what's getting done around here. No more printing, no more "losing" the chore sheet, no more whining about she always draws that stick. Just a simple place for her to report and me to read each week. GENIUS...yep...that's what she is.
