I've been giving a new release away on FB each week but I thought that this week I'd switch things up and give it away here on my blog so if you want to win this week's new release which is an awesome set of templates, leave me a comment telling me one of your birthday traditions. I'll announce the winner on Thursday when the kit is released! Oh and just in case you need something to wet your tastebuds...here's a sneak peek at the templates...

When my son was at home I used to make him his favorite dessert Cheesecake. No matter how poor I was I always managed to come up with the ingredients to make it for him. Now his wife carries on that tradition.
My own personal tradition is to give someone a card telling them how much they mean to me and a small present on my birthday. One year a meeting fell on my birthday and everyone at the meeting got a single flower with a hand made gift tag.

In our family, the birthday person gets to pick the meals for the day and what kind of cake/dessert they want. My kids have started to expand it to choosing an activity like swimming.

Bowling!! My birthday wish is to get all stikes hahaha totally unlikely & now my 4 year old loves to challenge me & win - usually means he hijacks my bowling ball & takes my turn bowling into the gutter!. This kit looks as delicious as a birthday cake.

My birthday is on Christmas so in my family the tradition was to celebrate Christmas in the morning and then my birthday after dinner. When Baskin Robbins came into being we added an ice cream cake to the tradition. Oh, and no, no one was allowed to give me one gift for both my birthday and Chrismas - my Mom made sure of that!

My daughters take me to lunch on my birthday! My choice of restaurant. Although we acutally celebrate with cake an ice cream on july 4th at the family bar-b-que since my bday is on the 5th.

Always want to win one of your kits. When I was young we would alway put up the Christmas Tree on my birthday which was one week before Christmas. It was always fun.

My family always takes me out to dinner, but that's about it. Birthdays, well, adult ones anyway, aren't a huge deal around here. My daughter's, on the other hand, involves way to many presents and a huge cake.

Well... I like to spend my birthday on vacation lol! I usually do manage to go away, but usually get home the day or 2 before... this year I'll be scrapping in Vegas for my b-day week! The tradition with my kids, is that they always have ice cream cake on their actual birthday... even if their party is on a different day!

For myself, I have no tradition other than being thankful that I've reached another milestone!

Our tradition is that the birthday boy/girl gets to decide on dinner for the day...either home cooked or at a restaurant :)

I was going to say that we always took out kids out for dinner at a nice restaurant just by themselves--no siblings -- and they got to choose, but Bethany beat me to it. One thing we do now is my dh and I always go to dinner together some place nice. I usually beg for Red Lobster which requires a trip to Billings (105 miles one way) so we often wait until the weekend. Another thing we do is make the birthday person's favorite meal/or dessert and it doesn't have to be cake. Bethany makes me a homemade coconut cream pie with meringue like my mom used to make me. Yumm!

Well I don't want to think of how old I'll be this year (in my late 40's) oh my! On the large birthdays - 30/40/50 etc my family holds a roast - it's so fun! thanks so much for the chance!

Besides cake and presents, I don't do much "traditionally," but when we were kids, mom and dad used to take us out to dinner withOUT any other kids and we got to choose the restaurant. It really made us feel special.

My birthday, which is the 21st of July, is celebrated in my family by everyone making me a homemade card. I love it and look forward to it all year.
