I'm sorry I didn't get a technique posted yesterday. I was knee deep in green beans that took a wee bit longer than I thought they would to prep and can. I may never can them again! LOL! But anyway, you didn't come to hear about that! I made a layout a couple of weeks ago that had a few of you emailing me to ask how I did the title work. So I thought I'd go ahead and show you that today.
I made this layout for a speed scrap and one of the instructions was to title your layout in an unusual way.
See how I have some of the pattern paper peeking around my alpha title? That's what I'm going to show you today. It's so easy you'll be slapping your forehead and saying, duh! ;)
You'll want to start with 2 pieces of paper and your title. Go ahead and merge the letters of your title together if you've used an alpha. If you used a font, you'll need to rasterize/simplify before you can really do this. Go ahead and layer the paper you want to be peeking out around your title at the bottom of the pile followed by the top sheet of paper and your title on top of that.
Now you'll be able to select the size you'd like to expand your selection which will allow you to choose just how much of that background paper you'd like to reveal. I chose 20 pixels for this particular title but play around with that number until you get the perfect amount for your layout.
Here are a couple of variations on the pixel selection so you can see the changes. This one is 40 pixels...
Go give it a whirl! Have fun with it! If you need a fun word art, I've got just the thing for you today! I'm throwing in my Word Art Wednesday goodie for this week!
Have a great day! Don't forget to stop by my FB Fan page today to play along with today's speed scrap! Here's my layout...
