This is my brother Mark during a fishing trip last summer.  He forgot to bring his shoes with him so the poor boy was stuck in cowboy boots and budweiser swim trunks...now that's a fashion statement if I ever saw one!  LOL!

In April we had our annual Spring Crop and we had a ball just like we always do.  I was so bummed that my mom and Nina couldn't make it for this crop but sometimes that is just the way life goes.  Next time I'll clear it with them first!  LOL!  Aren't these a great lookin' bunch of ladies?!

Kaylee played her last game of softball for this season last night and I have to brag a little and just say that she rocks!  She has such natural abilities when it comes to sports and I really am just in awe at how quickly she picks things up.  Softball is definitely her game and even though she took a ball to the face last night, she still got back out there and played some more.  She ran with one shoe on and slid and tagged out 2 runners at home plate last night.  She is awesome!  This is her team from this year.

Last August my friend, Jamie, introduced me to a much closer swimming hole for my kids and I  and for that I am forever grateful!  LOL!   I managed to snap just a few photos that day (like 500+) because it's such a great place for textural photos...ok and for pics of the kids too!   These are a few from that day...

A Few Announcments, a Few Layouts and a Freebie!

My sister called me around noon today to let me know that I hadn't blogged today and that looked a little funny since I said yesterday that there was more to come. 

Doesn't she know it's Saturday and that means you get to sleep in?  LOL!  So anyway, here I am mid afternoon blogging a little just for you and her.

First of all, it's Memorial Day weekend so there are specials and sales going on all over the place.  Here are just a few that I thought blog worthy...

You may remember that this is where I had my pages printed and I was over the top excited about the quality prints I received back from them...definitely worth spending your pennies there!

Remember how I hinted earlier this week that Pretty Scrappy would have some new designers and that they'd knock your socks off?  Well...here's the official announcement...

Well, with the closing of Digital Candy, Trixie Scraps along with several other designers there had to find a new store to call home and Tracy found Inspiration Lane and she's having a sale to kick things off at her new store.

And she is also participating in a blog train...here's her part...be sure to check out her blog for the entire list of participants.

Now that you've seen some of the goings on for this weekend, I'll show you a few things I've been working on lately.  Maybe you'll find some inspiration.

I spent an entire day with Kaylee's 2nd Grade class this past week and we had a great time exploring so many places together!  One of the places we made a pit stop was at Sandpoint Beach and ever since Lexi got to have her picture taken with the Statue of Liberty there last year, Kaylee has been begging to get her picture taken there as well.  So of course this was the perfect opportunity to do it.

Throwing Some Scraps Around released a new kit this past week called Watermelon Daze so of course I had to create a couple of pages! 

This first page is all about sweet Kaylee.  She was such a beautiful baby and she still is such a sweet beautiful girl today.

Then I decided to make a second page to go with the layout I had created earlier this week with a photo of the girls in Lexi's class..this time I included the whole class and another quote I liked for them.

Then I decided to reach into my heritage photos and do a couple of them as well.  This first page is my Grandma O'Brien's Confirmation class and I was able to include the handwritten notes she had written and tucked in with the photo.  Love that!

And then I stumbled across this pic of my mom with her older brother and I couldn't help but love the look on her face.  It's so obvious that she is proud of him and that she adores him in this photo.  After all, just check out that stringer of fish!  Why wouldn't she be?!

And then last night I was trying to sneak in another layout before I went to bed and was able to finish this layout of Lexi on her field trip last week.

And while I was working with this kit, Kaylee wandered over and just fell in love with this kit and begged to make a page so I reluctantly turned my computer over to her and watched a movie with Andy while she created this page.

Didn't she do a great job?  I love her art...she is so fun to watch create.

Then since I left that kit open last night, I decided to do another layout with it today before I blogged.  No point in closing it when it was screaming for me to work with it again!  LOL!  So I created this layout about our family.  Just some candid and imperfect photos of us.

A Jitterbug Freebie for you coffee lovers!

I am so lucky to work with the designers I work with...I have to tell you!  Two of the designers I work with collaborated to create this awesome kit called Jitterbug.  When Stacey Crossley and Scrappy Shannon get together...they create a beautiful work of art in their kit!

I love the look of this kit!  I couldn't wait to play with it...the colors are just plain beautiful!

I am spending the week at my mom's and I have been scanning like crazy!  While doing so, I found these great pics of my mom when she was in 8th grade.  Actually, I found a lot of great pics that I can't wait to scrap but this is where I started...don't you just love her snazzy outfit and too cool glasses?  LOL!  Love you, mom!

Then I found these pics of my parents and me when I was just a few days old.  I love how young and happy my parents look in these pictures.  Little did they know what a pain in the butt I would grow up to be.  I'm glad they enjoyed the happy times while they could.  LOL!

And then I decided that since this kit has a lot of coffee related stuff in it that I would make you a quick page using some of it.  I hope you like it!  And if you're not a coffee drinker, grab a cup of hot tea or hot cocoa and snap a pic of you savoring the flavor and then add it to this page with a little title and journaling and you're good to go!

2 Speed Scraps & Lots of Celebrating!

Batter Up!

So I had a chance yesterday to work with Teri's kit Batter Up  and I love it even more now that I've played with it!  I love rich colors and this kit has lots of them....and for my CTMH ladies...remember Breeze...well, this kit has it and it's mixed with Outdoor Denim, Cranberry, Chocolate and Citrus Leaf....this makes me a happy happy girl!  For those of you that aren't CTMH ladies, that was greek but you should know that I love the colors in this kit!

So I opened up my baseball pics from a few years ago and went to work....so fun to look back at these pics.  I can't believe how little Lexi was in this first page.  I remember her going out there and swinging like crazy to hit that ball off the tee and once she remembered to get her chicken wing up she was rockin' that ball out there!  I also did this page for DDBN's Speed Scrap this morning. 

Then I closed the baseball pics because I thought it would be fun to see where I could go with this kit outside of baseball even though it's really all about baseball.  I like to push kits a little outside of their limits to create something unique.  So I grabbed a pic from last year's end of school sleep over and came up with this page.

And then, Teri asked us to come up with a few bracket book pages for her and well, once I got started, I couldn't stop!  LOL!  So I made these 6 bracket book pages for her.

Teri has just released this awesome new kit called Batter Up and with baseball sign ups due last week and agreeing to coach yesterday, I am stoked to get going with this kit!  It's BASEBALL TIME!!!!!!   My kids love baseball and even though they are in different age groups and we run 5 days a week to baseball here or there, it's so fun to watch them play.

Spring Fling

I told you I'd be back with some layouts for Stacey's new kit Spring Fling!  This kit took me in a totally different direction than I had originally planned in my head.  I pictured cute little pages full of whimsy and little birdies popping everywhere.  But instead you get puppies and a girl in her canoe!  LOL!

And while I was playing with this kit, Izzy climbed up on my lap and wanted to make a page so I showed her how to drag and drop and away she went...here are two pages she made (keep in mind that she is 4).

This is another good thing about digi...she can play with the good stuff and mommy still has it to play with too!
