Catchin' Up & A Freebie!

It's been so long since I blogged regularly that I had to go through my layouts to see what I'd actually gotten done since then...it's not a whole lot but there were a few in there from August and September that I haven't shared yet so...here ya go.

Izzy loves Anita.  In fact, she calls her "My 'Nita" and insists that she is her friend and not mine.  This pic is from a day at the lake this past summer.  Notice how Izzy has her life jacket on and a float tube?  Well, by the end of the day she was without both and loving the water!

This is my family at my sister's wedding a few years ago.  The day after I uploaded all of my pics (800+) from her wedding my laptop hard drive crashed and the photos were lost.  Luckily a few friends were able to send us some photos of that day.

I gave up all of my online games at the end of summer except Fish World.  So I thought I'd scrap it with this kit that was just perfect for it!  LOL!

A Grab Bag from Heaven!

So I went and did this amazing photo shoot with Lexi the other day and then I literally stayed up all night worrying about finding the perfect kit to scrap them with.  After all, I couldn't just put these photos on just anything.  LOL!  Then I woke up, got online and started looking around.  Well, I didn't have to look far!

Trixie Scraps just released a brand new grab bag (limited time!) and when I saw it, I knew it was just what I was looking for!  So I downloaded it and well, the rest is just history!  Two hours later I had three layouts finished!  WAHOO!  Then I came back a little later and made a fourth layout!  I can't tell you how happy that makes this mama!

Is July Over Yet? How about a freebie too?

I am so over this month it's not even funny!  I have really been struggling this month personally and it's time for it to be over.  The month started out with some devastating news from my sister that really just sucked everything right out of me.  I had no desire to do anything and being creative just wasn't happening at all.

I also quit my job this month after really struggling with some things that happened months ago.  I have to say that this was one of the hardest decisions I ever made but one that had to happen for my family's sake.  So bring on the extra stresses of less income accompanied with Andy's cut in wages due to a job change and well...that can just make you a little stressed. 

Then I had a wonderful visit from a friend from High School over the 4th and that left me feeling very tired...staying up all night chatting and then all day exploring takes a lot out of a girl!  LOL!  But it was so good and so worth it!

Then once I was rested from that, I went for a hike with Jamie and Dana and their family into the most beautiful place and ended up breaking my tailbone.  Not good.  So I've spent the last week swallowing pain pills and feeling like crap but the hike was totally worth it! 

Then this past weekend we went to the lake with Denver and Anita and spent the day just peacefully watching the kids swim and enjoying ourselves.  The next morning I woke up sicker than sick...throwing up, shaking, shivering, hot flashing, dizzy.  It was not good. 

Yesterday was Kaylee's birthday and we didn't do a whole lot because I was still feeling pretty crappy.  But her birthday party is on Thursday so now I need to get everything ready for that! 

Then on Friday or Saturday my parents are coming for a visit for a week.  If ever there was a time when I needed my mommy, this just may be it!  LOL!  So I am excited for them to get here.   

So....needless to say I haven't really done much creatively this month at all.  I just have not had the energy or the desire to create.  But I do have a few things that I worked on either late last month or actually accomplished this month so I thought I would share them with you.

A couple of announcements, layouts & a freebie!

Well, it seems there are big things happening for Trixie Scraps so I thought I'd share the big news with you!  Congrats Tracey!  YOU ROCK!

Want a little sneak peek at the collab kit she and Simply Scraps will be releasing tomorrow?  It's too too cute!

Isn't that exciting?!  Well, how about another exciting announcement in the form of a sale?  Seriously, if you haven't gone shopping yet, what are you waiting for?

Here's a couple of layouts I made with one of Farrah's latest kits called Everyday.

First I had to document our May...it was the craziest month I think we've ever had but it was so fun.  I am thankful for life to slow down now a little just in time for my sister and her family to move here.  At least I'll have some time to get my house in order before she arrives!  LOL!

And while I was working with this kit, I couldn't resist the corkboard that was in it....love it!  I remember as a kid, my walls were plastered with things that were important to me.  I even covered one of my bedroom windows with black paper and collaged my love for Andy all over it.  LOL!  I was a scrapper then and I didn't even know it! 

Now I'd love to cover Kaylee's wall with a huge canvas and give her some mega strength glue because she makes the most interesting art pieces.  Last night she made me a princess wand out of a broken plastic spoon handle (which she covered with a broken balloon so that it wouldn't hurt my hand), a piece of wax paper that she cut into a circle then drew a pic of me on.  She glued this to the top of the broken handle and then added four princess stickers to the edges.  To top this awesome creation off, she picked some flowers from our hawthorne tree and glued them to fill in where the stickers didn't cover the paper.  So awesome! (I'll have to take a pic)  I would love to see what she could do with a wall over time.  But I want it to be something she could take with her if we moved at some point so I'll have to figure out a cool way for her to do just that.

Anyway, back to the cork board.  LOL!  I thought it would be fun to make a page look kind of random like a corkboard would if I were to add things to it.

In April we had our annual Spring Crop and we had a ball just like we always do.  I was so bummed that my mom and Nina couldn't make it for this crop but sometimes that is just the way life goes.  Next time I'll clear it with them first!  LOL!  Aren't these a great lookin' bunch of ladies?!

Kaylee played her last game of softball for this season last night and I have to brag a little and just say that she rocks!  She has such natural abilities when it comes to sports and I really am just in awe at how quickly she picks things up.  Softball is definitely her game and even though she took a ball to the face last night, she still got back out there and played some more.  She ran with one shoe on and slid and tagged out 2 runners at home plate last night.  She is awesome!  This is her team from this year.

How's that for a crazy month?  Well, the first two weeks in June look the same way!  LOL!  And then it will be summer time and the kids will be home 24/7 and I will get to sleep in! 

So how'd you like to see what I made this weekend during my makeup days?  I'll show you a few...I just realized that I made freebies to go with most of them so I'll spread them out this week so that you can have a freebie each day...sound good?

I snapped this pic of Izzy just last Friday at the track meet.  We basically turned her loose on the football field and she ran and ran and ran some more.  Of course, this made for a fun chase for Kaylee's classmates!  LOL!

Izzy also learned to ride her bike all by herself without training wheels last month.  Now she rides it as much as possible and as fast as possible.

I created this layout for a challenge I'm hosting at Pretty Scrappy this month.  It's a lyric challenge and I chose the song Chicken Fried for the challenge.  I think the words to this song are so honest and I couldn't resist using these lines from the song for my page.

This pic of Kaylee is so beautiful.  I love her dimpled little grin and the way the sun is shining down on her.
